| Description | Geannina Burgos is an associate attorney at the Dabdoub Law Firm. Nina’s clients are entitled to disability benefits from insurance companies under an individual, commonly known as private, disability insurance policy or through a long-term disability policy from work. The majority of cases Nina handles fall under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), a federal law that governs most long term disability benefit claims.During her legal studies, Nina received fellowships from several organizations including the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Florida Bar, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the American Society of Public Administrators and the Ruden McClosky Foundation. In addition to gaining experience from a summer judicial clerkship with the Third District Court of Appeal under the Honorable Judge Barbara Lagoa, Nina participated in her law school’s Community Development Clinic. She received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Mediation.A classically trained ballet and modern dancer, Nina managed a multi-site nonprofit arts education organization for several years prior to becoming an attorney. She is an active member of the non-profit arts community, sitting on the board of multiple culture-driven organizations and has volunteered as a grant panelist for several cultural institutions.Nina holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and is fluent in English and Spanish. |
