Beginning with his tenure as AVP and Counsel at Bank of the Commonwealth in the mid-1970s, Mr. Heldt has concentrated his practice in representing financial institutions in a broad array of problem-solving contexts ranging from regulatory compliance and trust administration and fiduciary liability issues to negotiated collections, forbearance, loan restructuring/redocumentation, Chapter 11 debtor-creditor machinations cash collateral/adequate protection/relief from automatic stay/competing plans), Article 9 asset liquidations, mortgage foreclosures, and imposition/enforcement of guarantor liability. Receiving an MS in Taxation from Walsh College in 1990 (winner, 1988-89 Stanley W. Smith Taxation award for best senior paper), Mr. Heldt also has extensive experience in all aspects of plan administration and asset management for ERISA/Taft-Hartley Pension, Health Care and other employee benefit plans, ranging from $15 million to $1.2 billion in assets, together with broad experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
