| Description | Andrew S. Cannella joined Bendett & McHugh, P.C. as an Associate in 2008. He is admitted to practice before the Connecticut Bar (1993), the New York State Bar (1994), the Maine Bar (2010), the Massachusetts Bar (2010), the District Court for the Districts of Connecticut (1994), Southern and Eastern New York (1994), Vermont (2009), Maine (2010), Massachusetts (2011) the U.S. Court of Appeals Second Circuit (1995), and the U.S. Court of Appeals First Circuit (2011). Andrew is a Partner and Vice President of the Firm, and Co-Manager of the Firm’s Bankruptcy Group and Maine Foreclosure Group. Before joining Bendett & McHugh, Andrew was a Tax Analyst for United Technologies where he assisted the corporate State Tax Counsel, conducted legal research and analysis and made recommendations regarding tax strategies, performed due diligence analyses for potential corporate acquisitions and reviewed government contracts. Andrew’s experience also included serving as Staff Counsel with the Office of the Chapter 13 Standing Trustee, District of Connecticut for 12 years, where he headed up the litigation department, appearing in contested matters and trials and appeals. He reviewed reorganization plans, made recommendations regarding plan confirmation, executory contracts and various motions regarding disposition of real and personal property, monitored all civil actions handled by special counsel and reviewed proposed settlements. He began his career as a Litigation Associate in a general practice firm.Andrew is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, as well as the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy sections |
