Anna’s transaction practice focuses on representing and advising private investors on their US and foreign transactions, tax planning and disputes. Anna has also counseled clients in various industries including, financial services, insurance, real estate, professional services, retail and franchising, technology and development, cryptocurrency, manufacturing and development, cannabis, entrepreneur and new business services, charities and not-for-profits, sports, arts and entertainment, regarding the preparation of complex commercial agreements, service contracts, license agreements, purchase and sale agreements and non-disclosure agreements, employment and non-compete agreements. Anna’s advice allows her clients to achieve a sufficient level of precision in order to minimize risks and secure their commercial interests. Anna’s federal and state tax controversy experience includes representing individuals and entities before the Internal Revenue Service and local tax authorities with respect to audits and tax matters. In addition to civil tax matters, Anna counsels and represents clients in criminal tax matters. Anna has also acted as tax counsel for not-for-profit organizations and represented such organizations in audits before the Internal Revenue Service.Anna also advises foreign entities and individuals on U.S. tax compliance matters and cross-border transactions. Anna also assists with questions on FACTA, FIRPTA, CRS issues, PFIC rules and CFC rules and international tax treaties. Previously, Anna was Assistant General Counsel for the City of New York (Mayor’s Office), where she represented the Office of Housing Recovery in federal and state audits before the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Inspector General, and Office of the Comptroller for the City of New York. Anna began her legal career as a Compliance Officer at JP Morgan Chase & Co. Anna has also drafted several articles and presented several commentaries before the Internal Revenue Service on important tax issues for reinsurance industry and research and development. |
