DescriptionChrystal C. Tinstman is an attorney at and founding Shareholder in Bunde & Roberts, P.C. She offers almost 20 years of legal practice experience in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. She is focused on making sure her clients’ emotional and financial needs are addressed during this most stressful time in their lives. Sometimes clients’ motivations and emotional needs do not coincide with the best legal strategy so Chrystal helps them reconcile this contradiction with zealous efforts to resolve situations amicably or by passionately and effectively advocating through litigation when the need arises.Chrystal’s practice extends into all areas of matrimonial law which include planning for separation, adoptions, divorce, custody, relocation, child and spousal support, protection from abuse, guardianship, prenuptial and marriage settlement agreements, equitable distribution and enforcement. Chrystal started her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Peter O. Steege in the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas. With Judge Steege, she was involved in every litigation and assisted in researching and drafting countless family law decisions. One of these opinions was important to Pennsylvania’s current position on common law marriages. Chrystal then spent a decade in a small boutique law firm in Sewickley, Pennsylvania where she was a general practitioner and civil litigator with a large concentration of family law cases. Unlike other family law lawyers, Chrystal served as solicitor for several municipal bodies, including the Boroughs of Conway, Freedom, Rochester and Baden, Leet Township, and the Municipal Authorities of the Borough of Leetsdale and the City of Aliquippa. She also represented clients in real estate matters including negotiating sales, preparing sales agreements, serving as a title agent, performing closings, litigating actions to quiet tile, securing variances and subdivisions and drafting easement and deeds. Chrystal handled a wide range of civil litigation as well including domestic disputes, neighbor disputes, landlord/tenant issues, personal injury claims and contract actions as well as estate planning and election law in Pennsylvania’s trial court of Common Pleas, along with appeals to Pennsylvania’s Superior and Supreme Courts. She litigated a case to Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court that established the statute of limitations for the libel cause of action. From 2010 through June of 2018, Chrystal continued her career as an attorney at and Shareholder of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky where she handled primarily matrimonial law cases. Her vast experience in other areas of law enabled her to represent high net worth clients whose family law issues often come with various complex legalities. Chrystal’s background in business, real estate and contracts only heightened her ability to meet the needs of those clients. Here, she further sharpened her trial skills handling many trials over the course of almost a decade. During these years, she continued her appellate work too. Of note, in Pennsylvania’s Superior Court, she established a landmark case which addressed a parent’s right to privacy with regards to medical records and its interplay with a child’s best interest in a custody case. In June of 2018, Chrystal and her colleagues moved their practice from Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky to create their own firm called Bunde & Roberts, P.C.This background gives Chrystal a unique edge in her practice at Bunde & Roberts, P.C. She is particularly skilled in cases that involve complex financial/business issues and factually unusual custody cases that demand not only experience and knowledge but ingenuity and strategic critical thinking Chrystal wholeheartedly applies her talent to any genre of client. Every person deserves to have an experienced and effective lawyer carry them through this pivotal point in their lives in order to come out of it with financial stability and a renewed control of their new lives so that they and their children flourish in the future.
