For almost a decade, Gabe served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, where he supervised the Gangs and Drug Unit, as well as the Asset Forfeiture Division. Under his direction and leadership, his Unit secured convictions in 100% of the cases tried under Georgia’s Criminal Street Gang Statute. Prior to serving as a Deputy District Attorney, Gabe worked for the United States Department of Justice as Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Middle District of Tennessee and the Northern District of Georgia. As an AUSA, Gabe successfully prosecuted large-scale drug trafficking organizations with ties to the Mexican Cartel. Gabe also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable William J. Haynes, Jr., United States District Court Judge, for the Middle District of Tennessee.As a Partner with Weathington, LLC, Gabe’s practice centers around the defense of physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers in cases alleging medical malpractice, wrongful death, and negligent supervision. In addition to defending medical malpractice cases, Gabe has significant experience litigating general liability claims, including premises, negligent security, and automobile and trucking claims.Gabe obtained a Bachelor of Science and a correlated study in Race Relations from Vanderbilt University. During his undergraduate years at Vandy, Gabe played football on a full-athletic scholarship under Gerry DiNardo. After graduating, Gabe remained at Vandy and enrolled in the Joint Law and Divinity Program, and obtained his J.D. and M.Div. As a former prosecutor, Gabe remains committed to mentoring at-risk youth and co-leads a mentoring program for youth at his church. |
