| Description | Measure twice, cut once, so the old saying goes. What holds true on my weekend building projects, holds true in my practice of law. Put the time in up front, do your due diligence, inform your client of your findings and take a position based upon knowledge and strategy, not guesswork. For nearly two decades these have been the fundamentals of my general business law and creditors’ rights practice. I take great pride in getting to know the specific needs of my clients, working with them to develop a plan and craft strategies and supporting documents which implement the plan and allow them to move forward. Evan joined MRR in September of 1997 and has practiced in a wide variety of fields ranging from commercial litigation, construction litigation, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, commercial transactions, general business practice, collections, real estate and alcoholic beverage licensing. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Evan obtained his juris doctor (J.D.) from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. Evan then clerked for the honorable James C. Chapin in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County until coming to MRR in 1997. Evan is actively engaged in giving back to the community and is currently pro-bono legal counsel to Anacostia Trails Heritage Area, Inc. and sits on the Board of Directors for Laurel Regional Hospital and is the chair of its Foundation. Evan was active in his homeowners association for many years, having served as a board member for over fifteen years and as president for nearly ten years. Outside of the office, Evan enjoys home renovation projects and is an avid weight lifter and mountain biker.
