| Description | Mitzi Mayfield has practiced Civil Trial Law for 27 years. She is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She regularly represents clients in general civil litigation, trucking and automobile litigation, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, premises liability and products liability litigation. Ms. Mayfield also practices in the areas of oil and gas litigation and business litigation and has defended clients against intentional tort claims of libel and slander. Additionally, she has handled matters involving medical committee and medical peer review committee privileges and represented physicians, pharmacists and licensed counselors in matters pending before their Texas State Boards.Ms. Mayfield has been named a ‘Texas Super Lawyer’ (Thomson Reuters) in Texas Monthly for the last 10 years, AV Rated Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell (LexisNexis) and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She has also been honored with inclusion into the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers in 2013. Mitzi lectures frequently to lawyers, adjusters and risk management personnel at continuing education seminars and has served as a chairman for continuing education seminars for both the State Bar of Texas and Texas Association of Defense Counsel. She is currently on the Board of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and active in the Defense Research Institute. Mitzi is past President for the Amarillo Area Bar Foundation 2013-2015 and served as a Director 2011-2013. She also served as a Director for Amarillo Area Bar Association. Ms. Mayfield is very active in local and state bar activities and is currently a board member of Amarillo Area Tennis Association.Mitzi practiced 13 years in Dallas before moving to Amarillo in 2004. Mitzi and her husband Todd have three children, Claudia, Ellen and Rollins. Her hobbies include traveling, tennis and cooking. |
