| Description | Sara received her undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies in 2012. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2014 and her Master of Laws in Homeland and National Security in 2015 from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While in law school, Sara served as a student attorney for the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender, where she was a guardian ad litem, and she served as an intern at the Detroit Crime Commission focusing on human trafficking policies. She also served as a research assistant for her law school professor, focusing on primarily matters with juvenile offenders. From there, she also obtained a Certification in Mediation.After graduating from law school, Sara enjoyed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Deborah J. Venezia, P.J.F.P., of the Middlesex County Superior Court, Family Part. During her clerkship, Sara was responsible for various family matters, including divorce, post judgment matters, and adoptions. She also regularly mediated landlord tenant and a small claims matters.At Lyons & Associates, Sara has focused on high asset divorces, DCP&P matters, sexual abuse, adoptions, grandparent visitation, custody disabled minors, and pendente lite and post-judgment motions regarding a variety of matrimonial issues. Sara also has represented clients before the Appellate Division, United States District Court and the New Jersey Supreme Court.Sara has served numerous Counties as a Guardian ad Litem and serves as an Early Settlement Panelist for Middlesex County. Sara is also a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association.Sara also had the honor of being included on the list of New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Starts for Family law in 2020 and was Nationally Ranked Top 10 Under 40 for excellence in the field of Family Law by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.
