During her law school career, Shauna made the Dean’s List each semester and received the award for highest overall grade in many classes including Family Law, Legal Writing and Research I, Legal Writing and Research II, Property, Practice Foundation III, and Contract Drafting. While at law school, Shauna was named Chief Operations Officer of UNT Dallas Law Review and Board of Advocates Co-Chair. Shauna also finished as a semi-finalist in the Judge’s Gavel Motion Competition and was awarded Best Advocate in the Alternative Dispute Resolution competition. Shauna was also initiated as an inaugural member of the Furgeson Inn of Phi Delta Phi, the legal honor society. Before attending law school, Shauna spent over 11 years as a family law paralegal before deciding to further her career, and she became certified as a paralegal by the National Association of Legal Assistants in 2011. Shauna’s passion for helping families cope with their struggles through some of the hardest times of their lives led to her enrollment at UNT Dallas College of Law to become an attorney.
