| Description | Bob grew up in Ankeny, Iowa, then a small town of 4,500, now Iowa’s fastest growing city of 65,000 plus. After graduating from Ankeny High School, Bob attended the University of Iowa and graduated with high honors in 1977 with a B.A. in political science. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded membership in the honor societies of Phi Gamma Delta and Mortar Board. Next Bob attended the University of Iowa College of Law graduating with honors in 1980. He was then admitted to practice law in the State of Iowa and the Northern and Southern Districts of the Iowa U. S. District Court. Since that time, Bob has also become licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the State of Minnesota and the Minnesota US District Court. Bob is also a member of the Minnesota bar Association. Bob enjoys small town living. His first job after graduation was with a firm in Moville, Iowa, a town of 1,100 people. He also worked in Britt, Iowa, a town of 2,200 and the Hobo capital of the United States. Bob says stop and see the Hobo Museum if you are driving nearby. Bob worked with many farmers, small business owners, bankers and all others needing legal services. Not only did Bob help keep the town running with his legal services, but also with his general advice when he was elected a member of the City Council. Bob has also spent about half his time working with large life insurance and financial services companies including Prudential, John Hancock and Ameriprise. Bob provided training and advice to agents and financial advisors in the areas of estate planning, business planning, retirement planning and charitable giving. He also advised large company clients directly in these areas. Bob likes to snow ski when he has a chance. For the last 37 years, he also has been a fully licensed Referee for the United States Rowing Association and has traveled the country refereeing local, regional and national rowing regattas. At times, he even referees in Canada. By coming to Buffalo, Bob notes that he is again working with the type of people he likes best: honest, hard-working, friendly people who are willing to give their friends and neighbors a hand when needed. When Bob was looking around Buffalo, he was thinking of crossing a busy street when someone stopped on their own and motioned him across. He knew then that Buffalo would be a great place to live. |
