Deep ties to the New Jersey communities we serve Carey was born in Elizabeth and raised in Carteret, New Jersey. In high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and captain of her school’s cheerleading squad. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and was a member of the university’s dance club. In 1983 she attended the University of Bridgeport School of Law now Quinnipiac University School of Law where she was a member of the international legal honor society of Phi Delta Phi.
