| Description | Aaron brings over a decade of experience in Washington DUI cases and is recognized as one of the leading defense attorneys in Washington State. He graduated from college from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1995 and obtained his law degree (with honors) from Seattle University School of Law in 1999. Aaron began his legal career as a DUI prosecutor for the cities of Tukwila and Kirkland where he successfully prosecuted hundreds of DUI cases. In 2003, Aaron joined the Law Firm of Stephen Hayne where he limited his practice to defense of DUI’s and other serious traffic related matters. In 2007, Aaron became a named partner in that firm. Aaron has attended several seminars regarding DUI defense including the National College for DUI Defense (Summer 2002) and the Drug Recognition Expert Overview Course (2004). In addition, Aaron is a NHTSA-Qualified administrator of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He also went to Mansfield, Ohio for training on the breath testing device currently used in Washington (BAC Datamaster) by the manufacturers. Aaron was also a featured speaker at the WFCJ’s Annual DUI Seminar in 2007 and 2009. He is currently the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section. With hundreds of members, the section represents all criminal law attorneys and the executive committee is equally comprised of prosecutors and defense attorneys. Currently, Aaron is associated with the following organizations: – National College for DUI Defense – WSBA Criminal Law Section (executive board member and Chair) – Citizens for Judicial Excellence (executive board member and Treasurer) – Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice – Washington Association for Justice Aaron is married and has three small children. He was raised on Mercer Island, and currently resides there with his family and is very active in the community. He is an avid sports fan, and served as a legal advisor to the grassroots ‘Save Our Sonics’ organization in 2007 and 2008. He also enjoys playing basketball, riding his bicycle and attempting to play golf. |
