| Description | A. Dax Bello earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami (B.A. 2005), and his Juris Doctorate with honors at St. Thomas University School of Law (J.D. 2008). While a law student, Dax was a member of STU’s internationally acclaimed Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, as well as its International Moot Court Board where he competed internationally in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition, attaining a rank of third in the Southeast Super Regional. He was also a founding Executive Board Member of the Cuban American Student Bar Association (CASBA).Dax served as in-house counsel for MasTec, Inc., a publicly traded telecommunications, government and utilities contractor with annual revenues in excess of $4 Billion. After leaving Mastec, Dax was sworn in as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he prosecuted over twenty-five matters to verdict, including: Homicide, Armed Home Invasion Robbery, Armed Narcotics Trafficking, and other violent crimes. He was also a member of the State Attorney’s Office’s prestigious Traffic Homicide Unit. In 2010, Dax was named a Power 30 Under 30 honoree by the Apex Society, and was awarded the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) Outstanding Member Award. He was elected to CABA’s Board of Directors in 2011 where he serves as co-chair of the Judicial, Young Lawyers, Public Relations, Membership, Community Outreach and Events committees. In 2013 Dax was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Latin Builders Association (LBA); Active member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, and co-chairs several Carnaval Miami events and other club projects; Chairman, KCLH Summer Camp Program , 2012. |
