| Description | Ashley M. DeMouy was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2015. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, and before all state courts in Louisiana. She received her education from Xavier University of Louisiana (B.S. in Psychology Pre-Med, 2004), the University of New Orleans (M. Ed., Curriculum and Instruction and Adult Education, 2005), and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law (J.D., 2014). Additionally, Ms. DeMouy is a 2017 graduate of the National Criminal Defense College. While in law school, Ms. DeMouy was a member of Loyola University Law School’s Trial Advocacy Team and got her first trial experience as a Rule XX Student Practitioner through the Law School Clinic. She was also a member of Loyola University’s Black Law Student Association Mock Trial Team and competed in mock trial competitions in Louisiana and Tennessee. She has since tried more than ten jury and bench trials to verdict. Ms. DeMouy has extensive experience in the Louisiana court system. Before and during law school she worked in Orleans Parish Juvenile Court under several Judges. Following law school, Ms. DeMouy served as a judicial law clerk in Orleans Parish Civil District Court where she was involved in all stages of cases before the Court, including the preparation of written legal opinions and judgments and jury selection in various areas of civil practice. She has practiced both Plaintiff and Defense work in Labor and Employment, Criminal Defense, Juvenile Defense, Child in Need of Care, Adoptions, Family Law, Successions, Personal Injury, and Insurance Defense. Ms. DeMouy is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, and the Association for Women Attorneys. In addition to her professional affiliations, Ms. DeMouy volunteers as a Trial Advisor for the Allen Ray Bolin Trial Advocacy Workshop, serves on several community boards, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. |
