| Description | Autumn D. Osbourne believes that education, followed by good faith negotiations and efficiency, is the best approach for individuals experiencing difficulties due to separation and divorce. As someone who has experienced the effects of separation and divorce, she is able to identify with the needs of both children and adults during this life transition. She recognizes how divorce can impact not only the parties and children, but other family members as well, including grandparents. Given both her personal and professional experiences, she is passionate about the work she does. While she has the ability to negotiate resolutions outside of court, she is also a skilled litigator with a reputation of zealous advocacy. Autumn graduated from NCCU School of Law in 2009 with the goal of becoming a family law attorney. During her law school tenure she participated in the Family Law Clinic, clerked directly for Attorney Ellis, served as a mentor to younger law students, and served the community through work with both Legal Aid of Durham County and the Street Law Program in Wake County. In 2016 Autumn became the second member of the firm to attain the prestigious designation of Board Certified Specialist in Family Law by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization. She currently serves our community through teaching at Durham Co Legal Aid and the Durham Women’s Clinic, and continues to serve as mentor and adviser to other aspiring attorneys in the family law field. Autumn is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Durham County Bar Association. A native of Virginia, Autumn received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and received her masters from Virginia Commonwealth University. She moved to North Carolina in the summer of 2006 and has been working with Ellis Family Law since February 2009. When she is not in the office Autumn enjoys going to the beach, working out, and spending time with her family, including her son and two four-legged babies. |
