Description | Partner and attorney Chad A. Dean handles business litigation and real estate litigation with Regan Atwood P.A. Jacksonville, Florida, with offices in Orlando, Florida. Chad has practiced Florida law since 2002 and joined Regan Atwood in 2019. Chad concentrates on real estate and title litigation, homeowner and association litigation, commercial litigation and real estate transactions. Prior, Chad was a partner in the Dean Law Group in St. Augustine, Florida, representing a diverse group of corporate clients in commercial real estate litigation. I think my success has come from finding creative solutions to problems, Chad said. And it’s probably one of my favorite aspects of being an attorney: putting the puzzle pieces together. My approach is that clients want an expedient and positive result. You can try to separate yourself from others through experience as it’s imperative to be highly skilled in your area of law. But you should always listen to and take great care to serve your clients. I strive to exceed those two goals in every case I handle. Chad specifically worked in the areas of real estate, creditors’ rights, and association litigation. He has lectured on title insurance, compliance, and emerging real estate topics for industry professional events. Chad assisted with the formation of Greycroft Title Company and handled residential and commercial real estate transactions in Florida and Tennessee. He served as co-owner and president, and counseled staff regularly regarding underwriting, best practices, and Florida title law matters relating real estate closings. Chad developed and implemented in-house policies and procedures, and closing and escrow processes, and performed staff training relating to cyber security and risk mitigation. Chad was vice president, senior claims counsel, for the High Exposure Team at Fidelity National Title Group in Jacksonville, where he managed high exposure litigation and managed the majority of title insurance matters for the company involving complex and evolving bankruptcy litigation issues. Prior, Chad served as vice president, senior managing counsel for Fidelity managing a team of 15 attorneys and more than 2,500 active title insurance claims. The claims involved real property matters in the state of Florida and several international locations, with exposure up to and including $3 million. A frequent lecturer on title insurance matters, he conducted training for new claims attorneys and developed and presented numerous seminars to the claims team. In his first law firm position after obtaining a law degree, Chad served as a senior associate attorney at Schuyler Stewart Smith, P.A., in Jacksonville. He represented national and regional lenders in creditors’ rights matters, including bankruptcy, foreclosure and replevin actions. Chad has litigated in all three Florida bankruptcy districts and filed state court actions in all 67 counties in Florida. Chad said a highlight from his bankruptcy practice was litigating the changes in the bankruptcy laws after the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act went into effect in 2005. Being able to argue cases of first impression was an exhilarating experience as a young lawyer. In the title insurance arena I’ve served as claims counsel on complex real estate matters that have been appealed to the Florida Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. I draw on these experiences everyday as it has given me a great foundation in real estate law. |
