| Description | After graduating from the West Virginia College of Law, I was blessed to be able to return to my hometown of Huntington, West Virginia to begin the practice of law. After working at a technologically-advanced insurance defense firm, I decided to change the focus of my practice to the representation of injured people and working families in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. David Duffield and I formed Duffield & Lovejoy, PLLC in 2004, with an emphasis on using technology in our practice to improve advocacy and overall legal representation.Since 1997, I have been honored to lecture to over 2000 lawyers in West Virginia on the effective use of technology in the law. This area of expertise allowed me to begin teaching as an adjunct faculty member at the Marshall University CTC on ‘Computer Applications in the Law Office.’I also try to remain actively involved with service to the legal profession. On a state level, I am currently serving as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the West Virginia Association for Justice. I have also served as the Chairman of the West Virginia State Bar Law Office Technology Committee. In 2007, I was asked by the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, our highest Court, to serve as the only lawyer on its Multimedia Committee, which has worked to place cutting edge presentation technology in every Courtroom.Regardless of the many lawyer jokes, I still consider it a high calling to be able to serve those people and families who find themselves suffering from loss. Perhaps a hopeless idealist, I still believe in the rule of law and in a legal system that both speaks truth to power and allows for accountability. I would like to continue to grow our practice by being available to serve the legal needs of the people of the Tri-State area. |
