After graduation, he spent nearly three years working as a tax associate for Price Waterhouse in Houston, Texas, before joining his family’s business, Burton Companies, in the Rio Grande Valley as its controller.In 2008, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas. He was admitted to the bar and joined the firm that same year.Gene’s major areas of practice include wills and estates, commercial and residential real estate transactions, and business law.
