Description | Jennifer Erlinger is a graduate from the University of Florida (B.A, Political Science, 1999) and Stetson College of Law and College of Business (J.D., M.B.A. 2002). She is a member of the Florida Bar, Florida Bar Family Law Section, and the Jacksonville Women Lawyer’s Association. Ms. Erlinger joined the firm, Wood, Atter, & Wolf, P.A., in 2017, specializing in family law, criminal defense, and administrative law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Erlinger’s professional career has been multi-faceted. She worked privately during her years as a mother to a young child on specialized cases that required detailed, focused work in the areas of family law, immigration, criminal defense, and administrative law. Prior to moving to Jacksonville in 2009, Ms. Erlinger worked for the Office of the Attorney General as Advocate for the Commission on Ethics, where she was one of two attorneys that investigated and prosecuted ethics violations by public officials and employees. These cases included high profile elected officials and public employees and alleged violations of the State of Florida Code of Ethics before the Department of Administrative Hearings. Ms.Erlinger represented the best interest of foster children aging out of the State of Florida foster care system as a Program Attorney for the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program. She became the State Expert on Independent Living Benefits for children and facilitating the award of benefits for dependent children. In her capacity as a Program Attorney, she also carried a voluminous caseload of dependency cases in various stages of permanency. Ms. Erlinger’s commitment to child advocacy stems from her first employment upon graduation from law school, where she was a Juvenile prosecutor for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, and then worked as Child Support Enforcement Attorney for the Office of the Attorney General. Working for the best interest of children has been a steadfast theme throughout Ms. Erlinger’s career, even when working in the field of state employees and ethics, Ms. Erlinger worked with the Office of the Attorney General’s Cyber Safety Program where she presented education programming for keeping children safe on the internet from predatory behavior. Using her skills and experience in these areas, Ms. Erlinger dedicates her practice to working with families to resolve their most difficult issues with a child centered focus. Additionally, Ms. Erlinger works to aggressively represent the best interests of her clients in a myriad of family law areas, and is creative in her approach to finding solutions that will aid her clients and their families to rebuilding their lives. Ms. Erlinger is author of numerous blog articles on the Jacksonville Divorce Lawyer Blog and is the author of the book titled Florida Family Law: Enforcing Your Legal Rights and Rebuilding Your Life, She is active within her legal and social community in many pro bono and volunteer efforts. She is an active volunteer and a Parent Communication Coordinator at Julington Creek Elementary. Ms. Erlinger understands personally how divorce affects individuals and children. She was divorced in December 2016, and is the mother of one daughter, who is seven years old. Seeing how conflict and disagreement affects her child, she works with her clients to embrace positive co-parenting techniques and strategies. |
