He successfully defended a client’s zoning approval for a telecommunications facility before an Indiana trial court and the Indiana Court of Appeals, ending the matter with the Indiana Supreme Court’s denial of a petition to transfer.John is admitted to practice in Indiana and Illinois, federal courts in Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.Before joining LaDue Curran & Kuehn, John worked for two years as a law clerk for the Honorable Theresa L. Springmann of the Northern District of Indiana in Fort Wayne. In that position, he gained experience with motion and trial practice for employment disputes, commercial litigation, insurance issues, federal statutory claims, and criminal law.In 2007, John graduated summa cum laude from Ave Maria School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Ave Maria Law Review, was on the Dean’s Honor Roll for all semesters, and received the faculty’s Mary, Queen of Lawyers Award at commencement. During law school, he won the school’s appellate moot court competition, was a finalist in the school’s first-year student moot court competition, and participated in the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition at Vanderbilt University Law School. He also won the Michigan Federal Bar Association’s Edward Rakow Scholarship for Excellence in Business Law Studies. While in law school, John interned for the Honorable Paul V. Gadola of the Eastern District of Michigan in Flint, and for the Securities and Exchange Commission in New York.For three years John was a member of Senator Charles Grassley’s staff in Washington, D.C., serving as an investigator for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. John also has worked as a reporter for newspapers in Washington, D.C., Arizona, and Fort Wayne. John was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Marquette University in 1998 with a B.A. in Journalism |
