| Description | John Boykin joined the firm as a partner in the Atlanta office of Coleman Talley LLP in September of 2008. Before joining the firm, John was a shareholder at the Atlanta office of a very large national law firm. John currently practices primarily in the area of commercial real estate, but also has extensive experience in the areas of federal and state taxation, estate planning, corporate law, and general commercial law. As a result of his long-term experience with respect to commercial real estate transactions, John has developed a special interest and expertise in the areas of secured real estate lending, the representation of both landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of office, industrial and retail properties, and in the acquisition and development of real estate.John currently represents numerous banking clients, as well as other real estate development and asset management companies, in connection with the acquisition, development, financing, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate, and for many years served as the primary outside leasing counsel for the southeast region on behalf of one of the largest pension funds in the nation. John also currently represents several nationally based corporations in connection with their real estate and other business needs.John received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1976. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Walter F. Georgia School of law at Mercer University in 1980. He received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Florida in 1981. John is an active member of both the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of Florida. |
