| Description | Jonathan Mitchell brought his experience and legal credentials to Feirich, Mager, Green, Ryan in 2008. Jonathan graduated with Honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 2001. During law school he served as Managing Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and participated on numerous moot court teams. He was the recipient of the Frank C. Love Scholarship for Excellence in Legal Writing, the Oklahoma Bar Foundation 3L Award for Outstanding Merit, and the O.U. Legal Clinic Distinguished Student Award. He was selected for membership in the Order of Barristers and the Order of the Coif. Jonathan began his legal career with an active duty obligation to the United States Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. In 2004, Jonathan was selected to serve as the Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida where he prosecuted felony crimes having a nexus with the Department of Defense. He continues to serve as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2005 and following his active duty military service, Jonathan moved with his wife and two daughters to southern Illinois to reside near his wife’s hometown and family. At FMGR, Jonathan represents clients in matters which include worker’s compensation defense, general litigation, family law, and federal issues. Jonathan is approved to represent defendants in United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois under the Criminal Justice Act and he was previously approved to represent clients under the Illinois Domestic Violence Grant program. He is licensed to practice in the states of Illinois and Oklahoma, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. |
