He obtained his BA degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his law degree from Samford University – Cumberland School of Law in 1984. While at Cumberland he was very active in the trial program and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. He also served as Materials Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.Rick is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar. He is licensed to practice in Alabama, Tennessee and the US Virgin Islands.
