| Description | Mark Conan. Esq. is a graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) in Potsdam, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He moved to Florida after graduation from Syracuse University College of Law in 1994. He was hired by the Public Defender’s Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit in and for Seminole County, Florida. Mark spent over two years in that position as an assistant public defender and was distinguished for the high amount of jury trials in both misdemeanor and felony divisions.Upon leaving Seminole County in 1997, Mark was offered a position in Osceola County’s Public Defender’s Office, where Mark specialized in the defense of domestic violence cases. The cases that Mark was assigned had one of many domestic issues: assault, battery, child abuse, aggravated child abuse, and/or child neglect. Working for the public defender’s office, he was able to obtain invaluable experience in criminal trial practice. While in the domestic violence division, Mark was highly praised for obtaining a Not Guilty verdict in a well-publicized child abuse trial where the State called on several expert witnesses.In the years that followed, Mark served as an Assistant Public Defender and was moved to various felony dockets throughout Osceola and Orange County. After six years, Mark went into private practice in the year 2000. Mark was a founding partner in the Law Office of Adams and Conan, P.A. While there, he worked primarily in criminal defense. His clients included federal agents and Signature Pharmacy employees. In 2006, Mark was awarded by the State of Florida a Certificate naming him Board Certified as an expert in Criminal Trial Law. A lawyer must be lead counsel on numerous jury trials, pass an exam showing proficiency in both state and federal law, and pass a peer review. Less than 1% of all attorneys are Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law.In 2009, Mark left his prior firm and chose to start a law practice dedicated exclusively to criminal law. The Law Office of Conan and Herman, P.A. was thus founded in September 2009. |
