| Description | Melissa Gonzalez is a first-generation Cuban-American, born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from high school as Valedictorian of her class. She then attended Florida International University, on a Valedictorian Scholarship, and received a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2017. Melissa received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from FIU College of Law in 2020. She was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2020. During law school, Melissa was a member of the Negotiation and Mediation Team, as well as the Arbitration Team. She competed all around the world including Austria, Greece, and New York. For those competitions, she received the Outstanding Negotiation Skills Award and the Outstanding Service Award. In the summer of 2018, Melissa studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, focusing on the area of Property. During her third year of law school she worked as a Law Clerk at Morgan Horton Law specializing in estate planning, probate, and real estate. She continues to work at Morgan Horton Law as an attorney at law and works with clients on asset protection strategies, customized estate plans, probate administration, and corporate matters. She is focused on educating her community about the unintended consequences of not having an estate plan and advising that estate plans are for everyone, regardless of wealth status. |
