| Description | Michael R. Chilcot, Jr. is an Associate with Leech Tishman and a member of the Family Law and Litigation Practice Groups. Michael is based in the State College office where he focuses his practice on family and collaborative law and real estate law. Michael values helping people make good decisions in the midst of uncertainty. Specializing in family law, Michael counsels his clients in the legal arena, but does so with an appreciation and understanding for life’s bigger picture. Michael is known for dedicating the time to get to know his clients, their goals and their family dynamics so that he can craft his legal advice to lead to success both inside and beyond the courtroom, and for many years to come. Michael maintains a comprehensive family law practice, focusing on all aspects of domestic relations matters, including but not limited to divorce, equitable distribution, custody, support, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, and protection from abuse. Michael has expertise in both negotiations that occur outside of the courtroom, and in litigating matters. Dedication to helping people navigate family issues began early in Michael’s career. In law school, Michael volunteered and interned with various organizations charged with helping clients involved in family law disputes. This work led to Michael’s recognition and receipt of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Community Service Award. Since that time, Michael has built on this family law foundation with courtroom experience and pride in his ability to help guide people through challenging times. Being able to predict outcomes, anticipate issues, and quickly adapt to information are skills that Michael brings to his practice. He encourages clients to fully understand their options and combine his guidance with their inner resources to control their own destiny. Michael strongly believes in the power of compassion, which is evident not only in his relationships with his clients, but also in how he spends his time away from the office. Michael continues his lifelong interest in animal welfare as a dedicated Board Member for Centre County PAWS. |
