| Description | Michael Makris has been a licensed Texas lawyer since 1995 and previously received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1991. Shortly thereafter, he entered Law School. During Law School, he worked as an Academic Intern, then as a Paid Intern in the Special Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. During his paid Internship, Mr. Makris was given authorization by the State of Texas to appear before the courts as a third year law student. Michael was on the Dean’s List in 1992 and 1993, then graduated in the top sixteen percent of his Law School class. Immediately after being licensed as an Attorney by the Supreme Court of Texas, Mr. Makris was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney by former District Attorney Johnny Holmes, Jr. in 1995. He spent the following four years serving as a Harris County Prosecutor in the Felony and Misdemeanor Trial Bureaus, as well as the Family Criminal Law Division. Since the year 2000, Mr. Makris has continued representing Texas citizens in private practice. Throughout his career, Mr. Makris has served as Lead Attorney in numerous contested matters, including Jury Trials, Bench Trials and Social Security Disability SSD and SSI Hearings.
