Sean has also handled appellate cases in the Fifth, Eleventh, and Ninth Districts. Outside of State Courts Sean has also litigated Federal Cases in the Northern District of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Slater & Zurz Sean was District Counsel to Congressman Tim Ryan in the United States House of Representatives. While there Sean worked on complex constituent concerns in almost all areas of federal law. Sean’s Education Sean received his law degree from the University of Akron Blake C. McDowell School of Law. He also won the Dean Aynes writing competition, the Judge Martell Foundation Scholarship, the Ohio State Bar Association Employment and Labor Law Award, and CALI awards in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Labor Law. Prior to attending law school, Sean graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Philosophy and English Literature. While at Kent State Sean was a member of the Student Senate, President of the College Democrats, and a weekly Columnist for the Kent Stater. More About Sean Sean lives with his wife Heid and son Elliot in Kent Ohio. He is passionate about art collecting and attending concerts around the world. He also gives back to his community having previously volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Portage County and serving two terms on the Portage Area Regional Transit Authority Board of Directors.
