| Description | Sean D. Muntz manages RMO’s Orange County office and is the firm’s Practice Management Chair. Sean is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, with litigation experience spanning a broad range of subject matters, including banking, general commercial, employment, probate, real estate, securities, intellectual property, maritime and environmental disputes. Sean has litigated matters in state and federal courts throughout California, and in alternative dispute resolution forums, including AAA and JAMS, and before the NASD/FINRA and Pacific Stock Exchange. Sean focuses on four areas of litigation: (1) representing businesses, business owners, directors, executives, members, officers, partners and shareholders in business litigation and commercial disputes, and in internal and external investigations; (2) representing financial industry employees, executives, financial advisors and managers in employment litigation; (3) representing beneficiaries, professional and corporate fiduciaries (administrators, executors, trustees, conservators, and guardians) in contested trust, estate and probate litigation; and (4) representing individual and institutional investors and financial institutions in securities litigation. Sean previously was a partner at an international law firm in the firm’s commercial litigation group, where he represented international financial institutions in litigation matters. Sean worked as in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 aerospace manufacturer. There, he represented the company in internal and external investigation and compliance matters. While there, Sean represented the company as a victim of espionage, in the criminal matter of U.S. v. Chung, in which the U.S. District Court handed down the first conviction under the Economic Espionage Act of 1996. For representing the company’s interests, Sean received a commendation from the Los Angeles Field Office of the FBI and the FBI Director. Sean also has worked for a Fortune 100 financial institution as in-house counsel, where he managed and directed national litigation strategy, overseeing hundreds of cases. Sean serves as Vice-Chair of the RMO Foundation, which is dedicated to the prevention of elder abuse and to advancing diversity, inclusion, children’s, veterans’ and art initiatives.
