DescriptionDr. Xiaoban Xin, a registered U.S. patent attorney at Johnson, Marcou & Isaacs LLC (JMI), has a background in biotechnology and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, patent portfolio management, strategic patent counseling, and due diligence. Previously, Dr. Xin was an associate at Bookoff McAndrews PLLC in Washington, D.C., and before that, he was a patent agent/associate with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC in Washington, D.C. He was responsible for patent prosecution in the fields of biotechnology, including gene editing, next generation sequencing, precision medicine, biomarkers, stem cells, genetically modified animals, biologics, and pharmaceutical formulations, as well as medical device and health IT. Prior to his the legal career, Dr. Xin was a Technology Transfer Fellow at The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has extensive laboratory experience as a biomedical researcher at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, The University of Texas Health Science Center and Oklahoma State University. He also had the opportunity to have a pre-doctorial fellowship with the American Heart Association.Dr. Xin obtained his juris doctorate at George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. He earned a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences (Cellular and Molecular Biology) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a bachelor of science in Biological Sciences at Nanjing University in China.
