| Description | Zachary H. Champion, Esq., is the Managing Regional Attorney for REO/Retail Closings in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. His current practice is concentrated in the real estate industry, including title insurance, short sales, leases, REO/Retail closings, commercial closings, and general litigation. Previously, he managed numerous foreclosures and bankruptcies within the firm as an associate attorney, including representing the federal government in foreclosures and bankruptcies under Section 502 of the Rural Housing Act. Zach has a reputation for creating dynamic solutions to complex problems through his relationship building skills, substantive expertise, and attention to detail. Prior to joining Stern & Eisenberg, Zach worked for another nationally recognized firm, where he managed a revolving caseload of approximately 600 active bankruptcies under Chapters 7 and 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. In this capacity, he handled all bankruptcy-related matters, including defending secured creditors in adversarial proceedings. In addition, Zach worked as an Attorney-Advisor for the federal government, where he advised judges on regulatory, evidentiary, and policy matters, and drafted opinions for adjudication under Title II and Title XVI of the Social Security Act. Zach graduated from The University of Alabama and The University of Alabama School of Law, respectively. In law school, he was an editor on the Journal of Legal Profession, which is a grade-on journal for the top 25% of first-year students. He also participated in the Civil Law Clinic, worked part-time for a local firm, and clerked for a Presiding Circuit Court Judge and the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. |
