| Description | Joanne Crebassa is the newest member of the Plog & Stein, P.C. legal team. She comes to Plog & Stein with over two decades of legal experience. While Joanne’s legal career started with a focus on civil litigation, she transitioned into the practice of family law, successfully representing clients in divorce, child custody, and child support matters. She also brings appellate experience to the firm and is ready to assist clients seeking to challenge orders entered at the district court level. Her appellate practice includes multiple published cases, including a 2001 decision concerning child support and lottery winnings. Equally important as her legal background, Joanne comes to the firm as an experienced attorney who truly cares about her clients and the quality of the representation she provides them.Joanne works primarily out of our Broomfield office, but is ready to take cases throughout the Denver metro area and the State of Colorado. Working from the Broomfield office will allow her to focus on north metro area counties, such as Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Jefferson, and Denver. Joanne is ready to meet her client’s needs in all aspects of family law, including divorce, parenting time, alimony, division of marital property, modifications, and more. Before coming to Plog & Stein, P.C., Joanne was based in Ft. Collins, which also gave her the opportunity to gain familiarity with litigating family law cases in both Larimer and Weld Counties.Joanne grew up in Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she decided the law was the right path for her, ultimately gaining her juris doctor degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1997. During law school, Joanne interned at the county Public Defender’s office, helping parents facing termination of their parental rights. She also engaged in Moot Court competitions, which is where she found her passion for the courtroom.Missing her home, she moved back to Colorado to start her legal career. Over the diverse start to her legal career, Joanne practiced in the fields of insurance defense litigation and plaintiff’s worker’s compensation, medical malpractice, and personal injury cases. She maintained a high-volume caseload, while also managing support staff. Her experience includes both jury trials and bench trials. Aside from the excellence she strives for while litigating or negotiating cases, Joanne also excels at legal writing how well written court documents can impact a case.Joanne has been an active member of many Bar associations over the years, working to keep abreast of developments affecting the law and legal community. In her free time, Joanne enjoys hiking the beautiful Colorado trails, doing yoga, and spoiling her beloved dog, Ruby. She also enjoys spending time with her family Colorado family. |
