| Description | Angel was born in a small town in upstate New York, moved several times growing up, and ultimately attended high school in Oak Park, Illinois. Always looking for a challenge, Angel enrolled in the University of Illinois Law School after her completing her undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University. From 2010-2015, Angel served on the ISBA Young Lawyers Division Council. In 2012, Angel received the ECIWAA Award for Service to the Community. She was then elected to the ISBA Board of Governors in 2013 and was honored with the ISBA Young Lawyer of the Year Award that same year. Since 2014, Angel has been named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers Association as well as an Emerging Lawyer by the Leading Lawyers organization. Angel was the Treasurer/Secretary of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association from 2011 until 2016, and served as the Chair of the 5th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee from 2013 until 2016.In 2016, Angel was re-elected to the ISBA Board of Governors, was elected Treasurer of the ISBA, and was appointed as a Director of the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois. Angel continues to actively contribute and participate in the ISBA committees she serves as Board Liaison; including the Animal Law, Mineral Law, Judicial Advocacy Polls, and Judicial Evaluations committees. She believes that being an active participant genuinely helps move important conversations forward.During the day, Angel focuses on representing local business and helping individuals with their estate plans, but in her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading. Angel lives in Mattoon, Illinois with her husband, Brett; their dog, Abbie; and their cat, Zoey. |
