DescriptionDavid Woycik is a partner of the law firm of Sanders, Sanders, Block, Woycik, Viener & Grossman, P.C. located in Mineola, New York and concentrates on matters related to personal injury, construction, highway design and toxic torts.Mr. Woycik received both his Bachelor of arts degree in 1977 and Juris Doctorate degree in 1980 from Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, Mr. Woycik was a member of the Varsity Lacrosse Team and Crown & Lance Fraternity. He is past President of the Hofstra Alumni Organization. He was instrumental in instituting Alumni Appreciation Day which is recognized for all alumna who donate their time and/or resources to the University. Mr. Woycik has also helped raise several thousands of dollars as the Scholarship Chairman for the Alumni Organization and has been influential in obtaining numerous scholarships from donors throughout the New York Metropolitan area. He received the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award in 1991 and the Hofstra Award for Alumni Achievement in 1992. In 1998, he was chosen as Hofstra’s Alumnus of the year. He is also active in the Hofstra Pride Club, a member of the Advisory Board and has lectured at Hofstra Law School in the Trial Litigation Program for the past twenty years. The nationally renowned Trial Techniques Program has been named the E. David Woycik, Jr. Trial Techniques Program for his commitment to Hofstra University and his skills as a Trial Attorney.In 1999 Mr. Woycik was recognized as Hofstra University Veteran of the year. In 2005 Mr. Woycik was named the Distinguished Law School graduate for his outstanding achievements in the law field. In 2009 he was recognized as the athletic department’s distinguished service member for his outstanding contributions to athletics and academics. As a concerned member of the Long Island community, Mr. Woycik has demonstrated a true commitment to the people of the region. For many years he has been an active supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island where he instituted an endowment program which has raised substantial funds for children without parents on Long Island. He has served as its President and is currently Director of the Board. For his contributions, they have named the Headquarters Building the E. David Woycik, Jr. building. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Disabled Children’s Relief Fund which helps needy children in obtaining medical assistance for serious illnesses. He was chairman of the United States Organization for Disabled Athletes Fund Raising Programs for Nassau County. His other philanthropic efforts include volunteer work at the Northport Veterans Hospital where he donates many hours of his time to veterans in need.Mr. Woycik is a guest lecturer for the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He was chairman of the Nassau County Bar Association Plaintiff’s Round Table Committee for 2000 and 2001. Mr. Woycik is also a Colonel in the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General Corps and has received numerous Awards and Ribbons for his service. He has served overseas in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for Operation Desert Storm and recently for Operation Enduring Freedom in the War Against Terrorism. His awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters; National Defense Service Medal with 2 Bronze Device and two ‘M’ Devices; Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon with 7 Tours; Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars; Kuwait Liberation Medal Saudi Arabia; Kuwait Liberation Medal Kuwait, Global War on Terrorism Medal.Mr. Woycik is married to Carolyn Sanchez from Los Angeles and they reside in Garden City, New York.
