| Description | Jim was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He received his undergraduate education at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York and attended the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate degree Cum Laude in 1983. Since his initial admission to the practice of law in February of 1984, Jim has been a trial lawyer. He has tried every type of personal injury case to verdict including auto accidents, wrongful death claims, medical malpractice suits, premises liability cases and complex insurance claims. He has won numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. Mr. Kelleher has also been honored with the prestigious AV Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the preeminent national publication in the legal field. According to Martindale-Hubbell, An AV rating is a significant accomplishment – a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. A lawyer must be admitted to the bar for 10 years or more to receive an AV rating. This rating is based upon evaluations by other lawyers and is the highest ranking attainable by an attorney for ability and ethics in the practice of law. It is a distinction reserved for a select few in the legal community. In addition, he was invited to join the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) which (as stated on the Associations website) is reserved for Trial Lawyers who are of high personal character and honorable reputation, and who have met the qualifications as prescribed in the ABOTA Constitution as to the minimum number of Jury Trials required. It is among the highest honors accorded to a Trial Attorney. Jim is licensed to practice law in Florida, New York and Georgia and is a member of the Bar Association in each state. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice, The Florida Justice Association, and the Southwest Florida Trial Lawyers Association. He has received awards and commendations too numerous to list here including currently being listed by the National Trial Lawyers Association as one of the TOP 100 TRIAL LAWYERS in the US. He currently resides in Southwest Florida with his wife Susan and their 4 children, all of whom remain devoted Buffalo Bills fans. |
