| Description | Matthew W. Holmes is an Associate with the Atlanta office of Pitre & Associates, LLC where he has specialized in Civil and Criminal advocacy for the last 10 years. Matt has extensive courtroom and mediation experience, having trial experience in both criminal and civil cases. Specifically, Matt has spent the last six years engaging part of his practice in partnership with the State of Georgia’s Conflict Defender’s Office, representing all co-defendant cases ranging from simple drug possession to armed robbery and murder. Many of his clients have no other recourse other than moving through the court process to and through trial, and for the last six years Matt has been a staunch advocate of his clients and a defender of their rights and reputation, going above and beyond the necessary court dates and aided his clients through the process helping to restore the normalcy to their lives and that of their families. In his civil practice, Matt has also handled various civil litigation disputes ranging from auto accident claims to worker’s compensation and labor & employment disputes. In many cases, Matt has been lead counsel with his clients against the larger company, state agency or federal department since the inception of their claim. From the beginning, he has taken that claim and pushed forward arguing for and securing top dollar settlements or maximum reward at trial. Matt joins the law firm of Pitre & Associates, LLC to continue to utilize his wide range of civil advocacy by adding to his legal experience the assistance of Federal employees in their labor and employment workplace disputes. Matt’s vast experience in both trial and mediation will be extremely beneficial to aiding our client’s through the EEO process. Additionally, his long-history of acquiring extraordinary settlement and reward amounts in his civil matters will greatly assist our client’s in reaching their maximum damages resolution. Today, Mr. Holmes is an active member in the Metro Atlanta community, living in historic Grant Park with his family and two dogs. He is also an active member and volunteer at Ebenezer Baptist Church, and at the East Lake Decatur YMCA. Professionally, Matt is a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Public Defender Council, and the Gate City Bar Association. Matt is an avid supporter of the University of Maryland Alumni Association in Atlanta. |
