| Description | Michael grew up in Jasper, Georgia, graduating from Pickens County High School. He attended Kennesaw State University where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. While attending Kennesaw State University, Michael competed and was captain of the Kennesaw State Mock Trial Team in the American Mock Trial Association. The team went on to win several national competitions and Michael was recognized and awarded American Mock Trial Association All American honors.After graduating from Kennesaw, Michael attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan. Michael continued competing in moot court while attending Cooley Law, and was appointed to the student advisory board of mock trial and moot court.In 2010, Michael accepted a position as a law clerk for Superior Court Judges Roger E. Bradley and Amanda H. Mercier in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. In 2013, he joined the Office of the District Attorney in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit and was appointed to Chief Assistant District Attorney in 2014. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Michael handled a variety of cases including armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated child molestation, rape, and manufacturing marijuana.Michael joined Grisham & Poole, P.C., now Grisham, Poole & Carlile, P.C. in 2017 handling both criminal and family law cases. Michael currently represents several individuals in high profile cases in North Georgia including murder and other serious violent felonies. Michael handles uncontested divorce cases for his clients efficiently and effectively. In addition to handling criminal and divorces cases, Michael also handles matters involving obtaining and defending Temporary Protective Orders.Michael is married to Lindsey Ray and they live in Jasper with their miniature labradoodle, Sydney.Michael is currently an active member of the Appalachian Bar Association and the Blue Ridge Bar Association. |
