After completing law school he practiced in civil litigation in a Rockford, Illinois, law firm with an emphasis on trial work. In 1999, he joined Brassfield, Krueger & Ramlow, Ltd., as a partner, with his practice primarily focused in civil litigation. He is a trial attorney licensed to practice law in Illinois and Wisconsin state courts, federal district court, and the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.
