DescriptionIn January 2021, Wanda joined the prestigious Law Firm of Meadows, Macie & Sutton in an Of Counsel capacity. Her area of practice will primarily focus on Criminal Defense and Immigration Law. Her years of competent experience and dedicated service have aptly prepared her for this role. With 27 years of service as an Attorney and Judge, Wanda L. Dallas is excited to enter this new season of her legal career. She looks at her previous years of service as a precursor to where she is now. For seven (7) years, Wanda served as the Chief Judge for the Magistrate Court of Clayton County and a former Associate Judge for the Fulton County Juvenile Court. In January 2021, Wanda was appointed as the Chief Judge for the Riverdale Municipal Court, a position that she first held in 2004. Wanda’s legal career began in 1993 and has grown consistently since then. A career prosecutor, she handled many jury trials as an Assistant Solicitor General and Senior Assistant D.A. She considers her most impacting and transitional season occurring in early 2001, while at the Fulton County D.A.’s Office. She was selected to create and supervise an innovative program that shifted from traditional prosecution to crime prevention and community empowerment. Community Prosecution envisioned a partnership between the D. A.’s Office, law enforcement agencies, political agencies, and the community. From 2003 2005, Wanda served as a trainer and faculty member for the American Prosecutor’s Research Institute (A.P.R.I.). Due to her success as a trainer, in 2007 then Judge Dallas was invited to act as a consultant for the South African government. Based on her accomplishment with Community Prosecution, she was flown to South Africa and trained over 250 prosecutors and stakeholders from around the world, about crime prevention and crime reduction through the community prosecution model. This opportunity opened up the reality of a global relationship that changed her life. Holding a variety of legal positions for the next several years of her career, Wanda maintained her commitment to higher education. For 10 years, she was an adjunct professor for the Georgia State University College of Law. She served as a board member for the Atlanta Technical College, and for several years, worked as a part time Adjunct Professor for Atlanta Metropolitan State College. In these positions, she honed her ability to create curriculum for use at a University level, while providing sound guidance and instruction to undergraduate and graduate level students. Wanda has received numerous distinctions and accolades, including the Public Service Award of the Year and Employee of the Year by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office; an Appreciation Award by the Georgia Department of Labor (Savannah State University mentor program); and Certificate of Appreciation by the City of Atlanta Police Department. Her strong desire to serve her community, especially her youth, is evidenced by her involvement in several service oriented organizations, including Club President and Secretary of the Atlanta West End Rotary Club, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta. Throughout the entirety of her legal career, Wanda has been invited to be a guest speaker in a variety of forums, including youth conferences, women’s empowerment conferences, church anniversaries and programs. She has accepted many invitations to be both a graduation, as well as baccalaureate speaker. Her style and substance serves to encourage, motivate, and sow seeds into each audience that she speaks before.
