He is a member of The Florida Bar; the Jacksonville Bar Association; The International Association of Defense Counsel (member product liability and property and casualty insurance committees); the Defense Research Institute; and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (Board of Directors 1987-1991) (member product liability committee). He is a member of the Florida Supreme Court’s Committee on Standard Jury Instructions Committee (Civil). In addition, since 2007 he has been a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida and has previously served as the Chairman of the Commission.
